Unboxing the HTC myTouch 4G, part 1

Forget the T-Mobile G2/HTC Desire Z. The HTC myTouch 4G is here – in a lovely shade of purple, no less :)

It’s a worthy successor to the Nexus One, adding HSPA+, a dedicated 2-stage camera button, and a front-facing camera, plus featuring a larger screen (3.8″ vs. 3.7″), and faster processor.

The only potential drawback is the custom HTC Sense-like UI over Android 2.2 instead of plain FroYo. Take a look at my unboxing video – I’ll have some pictures for you soon.

  1. Thanks for another quality video. I’m really interested in this phone but not sure if it can replace my Nexus One.

  2. Thanks for the video. I preordered mine online and received it the day after it came out. I had a Vibrant, and the 4G feels like a much better designed product. No GPS issues, no lag, market updates are very quick.

The HTC sense isn’t too obtrusive, and doesn’t seem to have any drag on overall performance.

The phone has a nice feel, with a little heft. I use it with the carbon fiber case from T-mobile, which has a nice fit.

I heard you also on the Phones show podcast from the UK last week, and always enjoy your comments. I use Dogcatcher and like to listen to podcasts in the car and when I walk.
