CTIA: Nokia N86 8MP hands on
Amongst the plethora of devices on display at CTIA was the Nokia N86 8MP, which is basically an N85 with an 8 megapixel camera, 8 GB of built-in flash (in addition to micro-SDHC support), a kickstand, and a glass screen cover… Take a look at my pictures!
I was able to play with the N86 at the Nokia booth, but I’m conflicted about it. On one hand, it’s a great device. Build/material quality is better than the N85, almost E-series like. The camera is fantastic, likely beating the N82. It’s going to dethrone the mighty N95 as the Symbian non-touch phone to have.
But on the other hand, as I’ve mentioned before, the N86 is what the N85 should have been in the first place. I’m disappointed that the N97 flagship features an inferior camera. Regardless, I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a review unit – if the N86 camera is anything like my Samsung T929 (Memoir), we have a winner :)
well 8 mp, thats a number, will be fun to see how the pictures are :-)
Better than the Nokia N82? Whoa… a lot of people are going to be happy.
@Mark Yep… The auto-focus was super fast! And you can actually see the mechanical shutter spring into action.
