Unboxing the Dell Vostro A90/Mini 9

Over a month ago, I ordered a Dell Vostro A90 (the all black “business” version of the Dell Mini 9) with Ubuntu, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB SSD, Bluetooth, and VGA webcam for about $200 on sale.

I also picked up a 2 GB RAM module and a Runcore 16 GB SSD for another $100…

The Vostro A90 finally arrived last week, and after upgrading the RAM and SSD, I promptly installed Mac OS X 10.5.7 on it for some tasty HackBook nano action – take a look at my pictures.

Everything is supported and working like a charm via the Type11/DellEFI method – it’s truly remarkable!

  1. Честно говоря, сначала до конца не понял, но со второго раза дошло – спасибо!

  2. I don’t think ours ships till the 6th. We ordered it with a 64GB SSD for $380 total. I haven’t seen that configuration since, which makes me wonder.

  3. You got lucky! I used to have mine with Mac OS X 10.5.6, and worked ok, after I tried the update for the 10.5.7 It started to have kernel panics and didn’t stay very stable…
So I decide and turned to Ubuntu 9.04 again.

But still, a MiniBook is always a excellent roadtrip companion :)
