Nokia 6790 (Surge) iSync plugin
There’s apparently no iSync plugin yet from Nokia for the 6790 (Surge), so I used my developer skills and whipped one together. Simply download, unzip and copy to the /Library/PhonePlugins folder! After pairing your 6790, run iSync, and select Devices|Add Device…
Enjoy :)
Thanks! SO MUCH.
You ROCK! this was very easy to use.
Did not work until I restarted my computer.
Thanks so much
crazy helpful, thank you!
Awesome! U rule!
is it possible to make pluging for nokia 7705
It does not support the right protocols.
so what should I do? how do I transfer my phone book???
– Transfer Vcards from your Mac to your 7705 via Bluetooth (Address Book supports them)
– Setup exchange on the phone to sync contacts with Gmail
– Google is your friend
i dont have internet on my phone, so i guess gmail is out of questions… i’ll try first vcards thing
how do i transfer vcards to my phone again? what app am i using?
As I said, Google is your friend. I’d like to keep the comments here on topic (iSync, 6790).
I tried googling for that last hour but no avail. I can transfer from phone to mac via bluetooth no problem, but the other way round seems to barf. Any thoughts? – tks
You should be able to send individual contacts from the phone to the computer via Bluetooth as well.
what about the other way? i have 300 contacts one by one might take a while
I can send it from my phone (my last phone meant I could add all vCards and send over BT). But when I try to send it to my phone the request fails.
I am using the BT file brower to do this – should I be using a different tool?
Hi. I downloaded and installed the plugin (OSX Lion), created the PhonePlugins folder under /Library/, paired the phone, restarted computer, opened iSync and tried to Add a Device. I can see the phone, but I get the message that iSync doesn’t support my 6790 phone. Any thoughts on what I might be doing incorrectly?
Thanks,
Chad
I only tested this in Leopard (it was 2 years ago)… No idea if this works in Lion! Also try rebooting, and re-pairing the phone.
